The purpose of this study is to provide information by exploring the experiences of juvenile offenders during the juvenile justice process from their perspectives. The participants of the study include 8 juvenile delinquents and a multi-case research was performed in order to get a deeper understanding of their experiences. The results of this study were analyzed according to the juvenile justice process-crime investigation, prosecution, judicial, and correctional stages-and classified into a total of 14 themes. The main results of this study is as follows. Juvenile offenders decide to stop crimes during the juvenile justice process, but they had difficulty moving into action. There was a period during which they were not subject to any judicial intervention during the juvenile justice process of several months. The juvenile justice process experience weakened the foundation of family support of juvenile delinquents. Based on those results, this study discussed practical and policy implication for the prevent recidivism of juvenile offenders.

본 연구는 소년범죄자의 소년사건처리절차 경험을 당사자의 관점으로 탐구함으로써 그에 관한 정보를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구 참여자는 소년사건처리절차를 경험한 8명의 소년으로 이들의 경험을 심층적으로 이해하기 위해 다중사례연구를 실시하였다. 연구결과는 소년사건처리절차의 과정인 경찰단계, 검찰단계, 법원단계, 교정단계로 나누 어 분석하였고, 총 14개의 주제로 범주화하였다. 본 연구에서 발견한 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 소년은 사법처리과정 중에 범죄 중단을 결심하지만 행동으로 이어지는 데는 어려움을 겪 고 있었다. 수개월의 사법처리 기간동안 소년은 어떠한 사법기관의 개입도 받지 않는 시기 가 존재했으며 이 기간에 재범을 일으키기도 했다. 소년사건처리절차 중 소년의 건강한 육 성을 목적으로 하는 교육적 처우는 교정단계에 비로소 이루어졌으며 사법처리과정의 경험은 소년범죄자의 가족 간 지지를 약화시키는 결과를 가져왔다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 소년사건처리절차를 경험한 소년범죄자의 재범을 예방하기 위한 실천적, 정책적 제언을 논의하였다.
