The purpose of this study is to analyze how juvenile crime is framed in major domestic daily newspapers and to pursue its meaning in corrections. Through frame analysis, we observed how news reporting defines a problem and its meaning. In this study, we extracted articles from 2014 to 2020 from the news portal Naver using the search term “juvenile crime.” A total of 785 news articles were analyzed by type of news article, type of crime, and the frame. First, our research result shows that while the number of juvenile crimes has decreased, the number of news articles on this theme has increased. Second, there were differences in the type of news articles, type of crimes, and frames by year. Finally, the conclusion, implication, and correctional suggestions were presented.

본 연구는 국내 주요 일간지가 청소년 범죄를 어떠한 프레임으로 보도하는지, 그리 고 교정 차원에서의 어떤 의미를 가지는지 파악하고자 프레임 분석을 실시하였다. 프 레임 분석은 뉴스보도가 문제를 어떻게 규정하고 어떤 의미를 담아내는지를 밝히는 분석이다. 본 연구에서는 포털사이트 네이버에서 ‘청소년 범죄’라는 검색어를 사용하 여 2014년도부터 2020년도까지 최근 7년 동안의 기사를 추출하였다. 총 785개의 기 사를 기사 유형, 범죄 유형, 프레임 등을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째로 전체 기간의 공식 통계 상의 청소년 범죄 수는 감소하고 있으나 기사 수는 증가하고 있었다. 둘째, 연도별로 기사 유형, 범죄 유형, 프레임에 차이가 있었다. 마지막으로 결론과 함의 및 교정 차원에서의 제언들을 제시하였다.
